The York University Lions men's hockey team fell to the Nipissing Lakers by a score of 4-2 on Saturday (Nov. 22) in North Bay, Ont.

Three goals were scored in the first period alone. The Lakers capitalized on a power play through Chad Thibodeau at 5:01. Jim Mcdowell and Mitch McNeill provided the assists.

At 12:39,
Tyler McGee (Timmins, Ont.) equalized with support from
Trevor Petersen (Thornhill, Ont.) and
Connor Hale (Whitby, Ont.). However, the tie didn't last long as the Lakers regained the lead through Erik Robichaud at 15:28.

Early in the second period, the Lakers' Colin Campbell extended the lead after less than two minutes of the restart through another power play.

The Lions responded by scoring their second goal at 4:25 through
Mitch VanTeeling (Brandon, Man.).
Colton Vannucci (Calgary) and
Michael Santini (Woodbridge, Ont.) were credited with the assists.

The Lakers sealed their victory with a final goal in the third period. Brock Morrison, assisted by Jim Mcdowell, scored the fourth goal to mark their win.

Goaltender
Chris Perugini (King City, Ont.) made 26 stops while the Lakers' Kirk Rafuse managed 31.

The Lions will be on the road in St. Catharines, Ont., against the Brock Badgers on Friday (Nov. 28) at 7:15pm.
