York University Sport & Recreation honoured its five Lions women's hockey graduating players on Saturday night (Jan. 31) before the team's final regular-season home game at Canlan Ice Sports.

The players honoured were forwards
Lisa Stathopulos and
Kiri Langford, defenders
Lindsay Brook and
Megan Finlay, as well as goaltender
Jessalyn Bogacki.

Stathopulos (Toronto) has been an offensive force for the Lions since she joined the team in 2011. She is a two-time team MVP and a captain this year. In her first season she led the OUA in playoff scoring with 11 points in six games, and this year she is the overall conference leader in goals and points.

Langford (Collingwood, Ont.) has served as an assistant captain for two seasons and recorded a total of 20 points in her career. She also is a strength and conditioning assistant for the Lions, and previously competed on the New Zealand national team at the Division 4 world championships, winning the gold medal at the tournament in 2011.

Brook (Ste. Rose, Man.) has been a defender for the Lions for five seasons. She has played in 120 regular season games throughout her career and recorded 29 points. She was an assistant captain last year and this season is one of the team captains.

Finlay (Hamilton, Ont.) has played defence for the Lions for five seasons, and appeared in every game over the last three years prior to this one. She has recorded a total of 20 points.

Bogacki (Thunder Bay, Ont.) has been a goaltender with the Lions for five seasons. She appeared in 24 games between the pipes, had a winning record in 2011-12 and last year posted the best save percentage of her career.
The graduating player ceremonies are generously sponsored by Investors Group. As part of the celebration, each graduating student-athlete receives a stuffed lion and some fans have the opportunity to take one home from the Lions Toss, presented by Investors Group.
