Her new mark in the shot put of 16.11m broke the record she had set in 2014 by 31cm. She followed that up with another impressive showing in the weight throw with a distance of 18.69m, surpassing the old OUA mark by 62cm. She went on to be named the OUA and CIS field events performer of the year.
Bingham blew away the competition in the 60m at the CIS meet, crossing the line in a blazing fast 7.19 seconds to win her third straight title in the event. Her time is the second-fastest in Canadian history, and she is also the holder of the OUA record of 7.23 seconds, which she set in 2014 and equaled this year.
Crew and Bingham are the last two York female athletes of the year. Crew won the award this season and Bingham in 2014.
