The York University Lions women's hockey team played their second game in as many days on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 16) in Kingston, Ont., when they squared off against the Queen's Gaels and suffered a 3-0 defeat.
Â
The Gaels flooded the Lions net offensively and for the most part the defence played stellar as York goaltender
Lauren Dubie (London, Ont.) saved 21 shots on net. Offensively the Lions unloaded the puck on the net as they had 31 shots on goal. Unfortunately they couldn't find the right stroke to finish the job.
Â
Katrina Manoukarakis scored twice for Queen's, including the oening goal on a power play at 15:47 of the first, and Nadia Larocca scored the other tally.
Â
With the loss the Lions now move to 1-1 on the season and will look to move back over .500 when they face off against the Brock Badgers on Saturday (Oct. 22). The game will take place at Canlan Ice Sports with a 2pm puck drop. Â Â Â
