The York University Lions cross country team was in Waterloo, Ont., for the Don Mills Open this past weekend and put up a number of strong performances, including two personal bests on the men's team.

Ali Ghadghoni and
Sam Agnew both put up personal-best times in the 8km race, with Ghadghoni recording York's first top-five finish of the season in fifth place in a time of 26:12. Agnew finished exactly one minute later in 28
th place.

In the women's race, the Lions had four runners entered in the 6km event and were led by
Vaishnavy Yogarajah in 44
th place with a time of 25:56. Just behind her was
Katrianna Pisani, running in her first ever race and finishing 46
th with a time of 26:18.

Also competing were
Ivon James Albarran and
Amanda Hroncok. James Albarran finished 49
th in a time of 26:31 and Hronck was 57
th with a time of 27:02.

The Lions will have next weekend off and will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 14 for their final race of the regular season before the OUA championships at the end of the month.
