After defeating the Lakehead Thunderwolves 6-4 only a day ago, the Thunderwolves came back with a mission and defeated the York University Lions men's hockey team 4-1 on Saturday (Oct. 11) in Thunder Bay, Ont.

Similar to the previous game, the Thunderwolves took the lead with Jay Gilbert scoring a power play goal at 8:45 in the first period.

At 14:30 on the first period Ryan Magill scored a goal to add another point to the score board for the Thunderwolves, giving them a 2-0 lead after one period of play.

In the second period both teams' defence stayed strong to end the period with no goals scored for or against.

York opened up the scoring in the third period with a goal at 5:40 from
Trevor Petersen (Thornhill, Ont.), the first of his career, with an assist from
Derek Sheppard (Ajax, Ont.) and
Kyle Campbell (Halifax, N.S.).

The Thunderwolves didn't let the Lions get their hopes up as they scored a power play goal from David Quesnele at 13:13 of the third period.

Lakehead scored its last goal of the game at 19:07 into an empty net by Mike Hammond.

The Lions had a total of 25 shots this game, compared to the Thunderwolves' 35 shots, resulting in the Lions goalie
Chris Perugini (King City, Ont.) to save a total of 31 shots this game.
