RecYork offers all levels of First Aid training to meet whatever your need in courses for all members of the community, those specific to Staff and Faculty, or in a First Aid Comes 2 YU format in a private course. We can even come 2 YU!

First Aid Comes 2 YU (FAC2YU) Information

First Aid Instructor – Learn to teach the Lifesaving Society First Aid programs (no swimming required!). Look in RecOnline for course offerings.
Additional First Aid and Aquatic Leadership programs

Lifeguard U – Take ALL the courses you need to become a lifeguard and secure a great job on campus! This course includes everything needed to become a Lifeguard at Tait – Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross, Standard First Aid, and National Lifeguard. 

Assistant Instructor U – This set of courses will get you started as an Assistant Lifeguard at Tait – a great job on campus with a great team! This course includes Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross, and Standard First Aid. 

Instructor U - Build on your qualifications and get higher pay as an instructor, plus shift bonuses.  This course includes Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor and Lifesaving Instructor. 

Standard First Aid – includes CPR-C and AED: Great for all members of the community, coaches, staff, and anyone in recreation and sport. Valid for three years. Please carefully read the Recertification requirements before registering.

Emergency First Aid – includes CPR-C and AED:  For people who want a general knowledge of first aid principles and the emergency treatment of injuries. Valid for three years.

Airway Management - Provides specific knowledge and training in the use of oxygen, suction devices, oral airways and masks/bag-valve-masks. Valid for two years.

CPR-A (Adult) – Great as a refresher - teaches how to do CPR and choking procedures for adults and includes the importance of early defibrillation and how to use an AED. Valid for two years.

 
CPR-C (Adult, Child, Infant, and Two-Rescuer) - Ideal for fitness instructors or personal trainers to maintain certification. Valid for two years.
 
CPR-HCP (Health Care Provider) - Designed specifically for those who, as part of their job descriptions as Health Care Providers, have a duty to respond to medical emergencies (e.g., doctors, dentists, nurses, paramedics, and allied health care professionals.) Valid for two years.

Refund Policy
Refunds and transfers will not apply for incorrect prerequisites. Please ensure you check www.FindAMember.ca or your Red Cross portal to check your prerequisites before registering.  If you accidently register for an incorrect course, contact us with a minimum of five (5) business days' notice prior to the course starting, and we will transfer you to the right course at no cost.
