York University offers student-athletes the opportunity to participate at the highest level of university competition. Excellent facilities, an experienced, dedicated coaching staff and expert support staff are available to assist you and your team as you strive for sport excellence.

For over 40 years, York University has been making its mark on the Canadian sport scene. Provincial and national team titles, combined with numerous athletes and coaches who participate on many of Canada's national teams, attest to the success of York's interuniversity sport program.

Since the inception of organized interuniversity competition in 1965, York has won 172 provincial banners and 34 national titles. More than 450 student-athletes on 19 sport teams represent York University in Ontario University Athletics (OUA) and Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS).

Athletics & Recreation at York is committed to the educational mandate of the University as well as a broad range of program offerings across the physical activity continuum. York's history of excellence in sport reflects this commitment and strengthens the spirit and pride that binds us together as a community.

In addition to athletic success, the University and the CIS and OUA recognize student-athletes at York for achieving an "A" average in their studies. Those athletes that achieve a "B" average are eligible to apply for athletic awards offered by the University.
