STAFF RECOGNITION AWARDS
ROOKIE OFFICIAL OF THE YEAR
The Rookie Official of the Year award is bestowed upon newly employed intramural officials who demonstrate exceptional performance during their first year of service with the program. These individuals exhibit integrity, professionalism, and distinction in officiating duties. Notably, they maintain a calm demeanor while officiating games, contributing to intramural competitions' fair and orderly conduct.
2024-25 Recipient: LAMEK BERHANE
VETERAN OFFICIAL OF THE YEAR
The Veteran Official of the Year award is granted to experienced intramural officials who have served within the Intramural program for at least two (2) academic years. These individuals consistently exhibit exemplary conduct, integrity, and professionalism in carrying out their officiating responsibilities. Moreover, they serve as leaders and role models for their peers, setting a high standard of performance and conduct to which others aspire. Through their dedication and leadership, they contribute significantly to the success and integrity of the intramural program.

ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF OF THE YEAR
The Intramural Admin Staff of the Year award is bestowed upon a student convenor or assistant who has demonstrated outstanding performance. These individuals exemplify professionalism, integrity, and dedication in carrying out their responsibilities within the Intramural program. They serve as role models to their fellow staff members and the broader Intramural Community, inspiring others with their commitment to excellence and positive impact on the program. Through their exemplary conduct and leadership, they contribute significantly to the success and cohesion of the Intramural program.

The Participant of the Month award is presented monthly to participants across all levels of play and recognizes individuals who exemplify the core values of the intramural program, showcasing outstanding sportsmanship and leadership qualities. While these awards are based on activities within a specific month, the recipients' commitment to these values is often evident throughout the season. This award is presented monthly during September, October, November, January, February, and March.

THE ARVO TIIDUS AWARD
The Arvo Tiidus Award, named after the inaugural Coordinator of Recreation, was established during the 1978-79 academic year to honour individuals within the York community who have displayed exceptional initiative and leadership in inter-college athletics. This prestigious award is bestowed upon a York University student, alumnus, or community member who has demonstrated outstanding participation and organization within the Intramural Program, whether as a competitor or organizer. Recipients of the Arvo Tiidus Award exemplify dedication, passion, and a commitment to fostering a vibrant and inclusive athletic community at York University.

COLLEGE/ASSOCIATION AWARDS
MOST IMPROVED COLLEGE
The Most Improved College award is bestowed annually upon the college/association that demonstrates notable advancements in participation and competitiveness compared to previous years, accompanied by enhancements to their community. This improvement may be evidenced by an increase in the number of teams entered and sustained, a decrease in defaults over the years, and a rise in the number of teams competing at higher levels of competition. The recognized college/association showcases a commitment to growth, development, and excellence within the intramural program through these accomplishments.

SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD
The Sportsmanship Award is conferred upon the college that best embodies the values and principles of the intramural program. The recipient college exemplifies these qualities through its conduct and behaviour, serving as a role model for sportsmanship within the intramural community.
