York University Lions Camps, Varsity Camps & High Performance Clinics 

York University Athletics, Recreation & Wellbeing offers a full summer camp experience for children and youth ages 4–14, from playful introductions to sport and movement to varsity-inspired training and high-performance development.?

?Lions Camps provide themed, age-appropriate programs for Little Lions (4–7), Mighty Lions (8–12), and Junior Lions (11–14) — focused on active play, creativity, confidence-building, and making friendships in a fun, inclusive university environment.?

?For athletes looking to go further, our Varsity Camps & High Performance Clinics offer sport-specific training in areas such as soccer, volleyball, basketball, track & field, hockey, and more. Led by York University coaches, varsity student-athletes, and experienced instructors, these programs emphasize skill development, strength and conditioning, and game performance within the same facilities used by York Lions teams.?

?Across all programs, campers stay active, try new experiences, and grow in confidence while being supported in a safe, welcoming environment.?

The kids really did have an awesome time at the camp and are already asking if they can come back next year. Every day when I asked them what their favourite activity was, it was hard for them to just chose one, they loved all of them. My kids have been in many different camps in the last few years, and York Lions has been by far the best experience. The facilities are spectacular, the staff are really engaging and fun, and the activities were excellent to get the kids moving.  It helps that it is affordable, and kids got so many goodies to take home! Good job York Lions, Mandy, and team! Looking forward to the kids participating next year again.

Thanks so much for the beautiful pics of my kids at this years Lions camp. They had a fantastic time! Adira was hooked from the get-go. On the second morning, as soon as she awoke she asked if we were going to the same camp, because she "had sooo much fun". They enjoyed all the activities and are very much looking next year's camp! They are very attached to all the York swag they received! The biggest testimony is that they never once said they were bored which cannot be understated!!! Thanks to you and the entire Lions Camp Staff for all your dedication, efforts and care taken. We are looking forward to seeing y'all next year!

My kids have been to many camps but from my oldest to Melodi says that the York Lions camp was the best. Thanks to you and your amazing team for giving Melodi the most memorable summer after a hard year and a half of being locked inside. The idea of the tennis was brilliant as Melodi now thinks she is a tennis star and wants to go to all tennis tournaments. She plays tennis all through the house by herself just to show us what she learned. I am very impressed with what you guys did and I know it was hard to keep together during these times.  Kudos to you and your team for making this the most memorable summer ever. Please note that Melodi will be back next year.

I want to say a big thank you to you and all your staff for running such a great program despite the many COVID restrictions. The boys came home each day happy, full of talk about what fun they had during the day, and excited to return the next.  Each day was the "best day ever" and as a parent, that's all you want to hear along with seeing the joy on their faces.  Being at camp, interacting with other kids, learning a new sport along with lots of games and activities was exactly what they needed. They needed a fun, safe, engaging environment where they could just be kids again and your camp provided just that. I was so grateful when I learned that they could return to a place that was familiar and had brought them so much enjoyment in the past and you and your team didn't disappoint!! A big thank you to you all, and hopefully our paths will cross again in the future.

Rocco had a blast and super excited to go back again. He enjoyed the variety of sports and the staff! Always had so much fun and left the day with a smile on his face. I asked Rocco for his feedback on the camp. Here are his verbatim comments.

This summer I was lucky to register my two children, 9 and 5, with the York Lions Summer Camp. With COVID pandemic I was worried about safety, but my kids needed socializing after spending almost a year at home. York Lions Camp had well organized COVID procedures and screening. They also had fun, exciting activities planned that I knew my kids would enjoy. Both of my kids participated in two weeks of camps. They played tennis, basketball, soccer and even did archery, water games and arts and crafts! It's been weeks since camp finished, and they are still talking about the fun they had and friends they made. Their favourite game of all was dodge ball!  On top of all the great planning at the camp, the counselors and coordinators were extremely friendly, patient and understanding. I will definitely sign my kids up next summer and would recommend York Lions Camp to others!
