The York University Lions men's volleyball team is finally back at the Tait McKenzie Centre and will play its second and third home games this weekend against its city rivals, the Ryerson Rams and Toronto Varsity Blues.

Last MeetingThe Lions swept the regular-season series against the Rams last year, winning both matches in five sets, but were upset but they were upset by the Rams in the quarter-finals to miss qualifying for the OUA Final Four Championships. The two teams have already met twice this year in the pre-season, splitting the two contests.

York• The Lions defeated the Nipissing Lakers in four sets in their most recent contest to get back into the win column after a pair of losses to Guelph and McMaster, the top two teams in the OUA standings. Their other win came in the season opener against Waterloo.
• The Lions spent two weeks in the CIS national rankings to begin the season, marking the first time in more than eight years they had been in the Top 10.
• Coming into this weekend, the Lions have played fewer matches than all but one other team in the OUA. They will start to catch up this month with six games remaining before the December break.
Ryerson• The Rams have had a solid start to the year with four wins in their first six matches, and their only losses coming against McMaster and Guelph, the top two teams in the conference. They handed the Gryphons their only loss of the season thus far and have also defeated Queen's, RMC and Toronto to this point.
• The Rams competed at the OUA Final Four Championships last year for the first time since 2008. They were defeated in straight sets by the eventual-champion Marauders in the semifinals.
Toronto• The Varsity Blues have had a slow start to their season with just one win in their first five matches, a straight-sets win over RMC. They opened the year with a loss to nationally-ranked McMaster and have since dropped three in a row in five sets, to Queen's, Guelph and Ryerson.
• The Blues finished eighth in the OUA standings last year with a 6-14 record and missed out on the playoffs by four points.

OH Robert Wojcik – An OUA first-team all-star last year, he is fourth in team scoring with 2.8 points per set.
