LAMBIE WINS SILVER ON DAY 1 OF OUA CHAMPIONSHIPS

Fencers from 12 different universities captured medals during Saturday's individual events at the OUA Women's Fencing Championship, hosted by York University.
 
Among the medallists was Kayla Lambie of the Lions, who won the silver medal in the sabre competition for the third OUA medal of her career.
 
Two Carleton Ravens, Isabelle Gauthier for the second year in a row and Adrienne Sukunda, took home gold in their respective weapons, épée and sabre. The final gold medal was won by Alexandra Lyn from the Ottawa Gee-Gees in the foil event.
 
The women's fencing team events take place on Sunday on Day 2 of the championship at the Tait McKenzie Centre.
