Last MeetingsThe Lions and Gryphons split their season series last year, with the home team winning in four sets in each match. Guelph started it off with a 3-1 win on opening weekend, and the Lions returned the favour in mid January at the Tait McKenzie Centre.

- In their most recent contest, the Gryphons were defeated 3-1 by Waterloo, the reigning OUA silver medallists.
- Last year the Gryphons finished tied for seventh in the OUA standings but missed out on the post-season after losing the tiebreaker to Windsor. Despite missing out on the playoffs, their result marked a four-win improvement from the previous season.

LS Zach Newman – Leads the Gryphons and is tied for 12
