Last Meetings
The Lions and Marauders have already played once this season, last week in Hamilton, Ont. The game was a crazy one, with McMaster going up 2-0 in the first part of the game before the Lions scored four goals in a 10-minute span to come back and win.

The two teams have played a number of big games in recent years, including each of the last two OUA finals and the 2014 CIS final, all of which were won by York. The Marauders are one of only two teams to earn an OUA regular-season victory over the Lions since 2010, sweeping the season series in 2013 and winning another in 2011.

QUICK FACTS

York
  • The Lions are undefeated on the season with five straight victories. In addition to the win over McMaster, they have defeated Algoma twice as well as Laurier and Waterloo. They are the only team in the OUA West with a perfect record to start the year.
  • The Lions are ranked No. 1 in the CIS for the third straight week and have now been nationally ranked in 53 straight polls dating back to Week 6 in 2010.
  • The Lions are the highest scoring team in the OUA West with 21 goals, and have the second lowest goals against mark with three.
  • The Lions also have a road game this weekend against the undefeated Guelph Gryphons (3-0-2), on Sunday afternoon in Guelph, Ont.

McMaster
  • The Marauders began with a pair of wins this season, over Western and Windsor, but have since struggled, picking up a pair of losses and a pair of draws in their last four contests. They are the only team to take a point off of Guelph with two ties and also lost to Laurier.
  • The Marauders have struggled to score and are averaging just over one goal per game, with seven tallies in six matches. Last year they were third in the division with an average of 2.5 goals per game.
  • The Marauders were nationally ranked through the first two weeks of the season, first at No. 5 and then No. 7, but this past week fell out of the rankings completely.
