- After suffering their first loss of the season at home against nationally-ranked Ryerson, the Lions bounced back with a pair of wins over Guelph and Waterloo last week. They swept the Gryphons in straight sets and then defeated the Warriors in five, nearly giving up a two-set lead.
- The Lions started the season with three straight games on the road, defeating Nipissing in four sets and both Queen's and RMC in five.
- The Lions are one of the highest-scoring teams in the OUA, ranking third in the conference with 15.9 points per set. They rank second with 12.04 kills per set and lead the OUA with 50 service aces.

Logan Mend – York's male athlete of the week after recording 79 assists, 14.5 points and 15 digs in the two wins last week. He ranks third in the OUA with 9.65 assists per set and is averaging 1.5 points per set, the most among all setters in the conference.

Andrew Tauhid – The rookie outside hitter is tied for the team lead with 3.1 points per set, putting him 20
th in the OUA. He is also 16
th in kills per set (2.57).
Trent
MB Emmanuel Danso-Amofa – Leads the Excalibur and is tied for 20
th in the OUA with 3.1 points per set. He is also the team leader in kills per set (2.25), tied for the team lead in service aces (two) and ranks second in total blocks (seven).
