Last Meetings
The Lions and Rams split their season series last year, with the road team winning both matches. Their first meeting resulted in a straight-sets win for the Lions, and then early in the new year the Rams were victorious in five sets, handing York its only regular-season loss in the winter semester. Prior to last season, the Rams had won three of four contests against the Lions.

QUICK FACTS

York
  • The Lions are 3-0 to start the year but have made things interesting out of the gate. Last Sunday, they played a match that may go down as the OUA's best in the regular season this year, winning in five sets over Queen's by scores of 25-21, 15-25, 31-29, 22-25, 20-18.
  • Prior to that contest, the Lions faced match point against the Paladins before coming back to take the third set and then carry that momentum through to the finish in another five-set victory. They also opened the season with a 3-1 win over Nipissing.
  • After starting the year with three straight games on the road, the Lions now have six in a row at home and won't hit the road again until the middle of January.

Ryerson
  • The Rams are also undefeated on the season after winning both of their contests to start the year. That included a huge 3-1 victory over the five-time reigning OUA champion McMaster Marauders, who have lost just five matches in the last five years seasons.
  • Ryerson hosted Trent in their home opener last weekend and won in straight sets.
  • As part of their weekend schedule, the Rams will also head to Peterborough, Ont., to face the Excalibur on Sunday afternoon.
