The York University Lions women's basketball team returned to the court on Saturday night when the visiting No. 5 nationally-ranked Carleton Ravens strolled in from the nation's capital and rolled to a 65-40 win at the Tait McKenzie Centre.

Sandra Nagowska (Peterborough, Ont.) was ready to put on a show for the Lions faithful who made the trip to see her perform at home one last time. She would score four of her 11 points in the opening quarter. A powerful Ravens attack would see the Lions outscored 17-10 in the quarter. Following a solid performance in the opening 10 minutes of the game the Lions would be shut out and outscored 17-0 in the second quarter.

Returning from halftime the Lions were in need of some veteran know-how and that is exactly what they received.
Shauney Fischer (Wallaceburg, Ont.) would check in to the game and record six of her team leading 12 points. Nagowska would score her final seven points in an impressive third quarter, and the Lions' best quarter saw them close the deficit somewhat with the Ravens leading 48-29 entering the fourth.

In the final quarter of the match the Lions would see Fischer and
Ishanaa Seupersadsingh (Markham, Ont.) close out the game with passion. Fischer would score her final six points on her home court while Seupersadsingh would score her final five en route to 10 total in the game.

As the buzzer sounded the Ravens would be the victors, winning their 15
th straight game after a season-opening defeat to Algoma. The Lions, meanwhile, fell to 5-13 with the loss.

The Lions' next game will take place on Friday night when they travel to Kingston, Ont., to take on the nationally-ranked Queen's Gaels in their final game of the season.
