The York University Lions men's soccer team headed down to Waterloo, Ont., on Friday to battle the Waterloo Warriors and walked away victorious with a 4-0 win.
In their usual fashion, the Lions began scoring shortly after the game started. Second-year midfielder
Dylan Carreiro scored in the eighth minute of play for an early 1-0 lead they would not relinquish.
Cristian Cavallini, also a second-year midfielder, took over the scoring duties shortly afterwards, and gained the next three goal for the Lions. His tallies came in the 10
th, 22
nd and 59
th minutes, with the last goal assisted by
Francesco Sinopoli.
The Lions now have a 7-2 season record and have won six straight games to move back near the top of the OUA West Division standings, tied for second with the McMaster Marauders and one point behind the Guelph Gryphons.
The Lions will return home to Alumni Field on Sept. 30 to once again face the Waterloo Warriors. Game time is 3:15pm.
