The York University women's soccer team played against the Guelph Gryphons on Friday at the Gryphon Soccer Complex and fell by a score of 1-0 after two tremendous wins against Algoma University last weekend.

The game started off with York gaining control of the offensive action. In just the second minute of the game, York's
Christina Morelli fired the first shot of the game towards the Gryphon's net, which was saved by Guelph's goalkeeper Libby Brenneman. The game didn't see another try by either the Lions or the Gryphons until 20-minutes later when Guelph's Victoria Hinchliffe shot on York's net, however, she missed wide right.

At the 22nd minute of the game York's
Farkhunda Muhtaj had her first shot-on-goal of the game, which was saved by Brenneman. Guelph scored the first goal of the game at the 29th minute of the half on a goal by Danielle Sauve, to give the Gryphons a 1-0 lead.

The remainder of the half saw two s shots-on-goal from the Lions, which both went to the far right of the Gryphon's net, the first being fired by Kiyani Johnson and the second by
Catherine Umolac. The Lions went into half-time trailing 1-0.

In the second half of the game, York produced two shots, one from Muhtaj and another from Johnson, however, neither of them were able to find the back of the net and the game ended 1-0 in favour of the Gryphons. York's goalkeeper
