The York University men's hockey team faced a tough 5-4 overtime loss against the Concordia Stingers on Friday evening in Montreal, Que.

The Lions got on the scoreboard first at 14:04 with a power play goal by
Scott Feser assisted by
Josh LaFrance and
Justin Bean. The Lions had ten shots on goal in the first period while the Singers had 15 but were unable to beat the Lions goaltender,
Mack Shields. The Lions led 1-0 at the end of the period.

The Stingers were able to score first in the second period at 14:41 with a goal by Curtis Grass assisted by Hugo Roy. Less than a minute later, the Lions responded when
Reid Jackman and
Daniel Nikandrov assisted LaFrance who was able to score another power play goal. The Lions continued to lead the Stingers 2-1 at the end of two periods.

The third period saw a lot of action as the Stingers were able to tie up the game early at 1:35 on the power play with a goal by Roy assisted by Bradley Lalonde and Carl Neill. The Lions took back their lead at 3:21 with a goal by
Morgan Messenger assisted by Feser and Jackman. The Stingers' players, Philippe Hudon and Charles-Eric Legare were able to find Roy at 11:53 who tied the game 3-3.

The Lions were able to take the lead for the fourth time at 15:28 with a goal by
Alex Mowbray assisted by
Dexter Bricker. With less than two minutes remaining, the Stingers tied up the game yet again, with a short-handed goal by Legare assisted by Philippe Charbonneau and Matthieu Desautels.

The Stingers were able to score 15 seconds into overtime with a goal by Philippe Sanche assisted by Carl Neill and Hugo Roy. The game winner led the Stingers to defeat the Lions 5-4.

The Lions will be travelling to Oshawa, Ont., tomorrow where they will face the UOIT Ridgebacks. The game is scheduled to start at 7:30pm.
