The York University women's rugby team hosted the Brock Badgers on Friday evening at Alumni Field in an OUA quarterfinal playoff match and came away with a tough 20-13 loss.

The Badgers were able to get on the scoreboard first, with a try scored by Jenna Rainville. Naimh Haughey and Aleah Boersma each scored a try for the Badgers in the 19
th and 23
rd minute, followed by Meagan Hart with the conversion to jump out to a 17-0 lead.

The Lions pressured the Badgers allowing
Lauryn Legerton to score a try in the 31
st minute. The Lions were able to cut the lead with a penalty goal in the 66
th minute by
Natasha Naismith. The Badgers also scored a penalty goal to increase their lead to 20-8.
Brittany Ediagbonya scored the last try for the Lions in the 77
th minute, but it wasn't enough as Brock prevailed with the 20-13 victoryÂ

With the loss the Lions will continue the playoffs in the consolation side of the bracket and are set to host the Trent Excalibur at Alumni Field at 1:00pm on Saturday, Oct. 13.
