Box Score The York University women's soccer team beat the Algoma Thunderbirds 1-0 on Saturday, Oct. 6 at Algoma's Superior Heights Turf Field, securing the win in the first of two games this weekend against Algoma.

The Lions offense controlled most of the game. In the first half of the game, the Lions shot nine times against Algoma and the Thunderbirds were not able to shoot once against the Lions.

Kalifornia Mitchell scored the only goal of the game at the 68th minute. The Lions were able to fire 11 more shots against the Thunderbirds who only returned one on Lions goaltender
Tamara Orlando who picked up her sixth shutout in the last seven games.

The Lions will have a chance to win their second game in a row against the Thunderbirds today also in Sault Saint Marie. Kickoff is at 1pm.
