Alex Fotinos, but hit the post and remained out of the Lions' net.
Ben Verrall had the first big chance for the Lions, taking a shot that went off the post. A few minutes later,
Dexter Bricker received a long pass just behind the Varsity Blues' defencemen, however was stopped by the goaltender. After multiple chances by both teams, Toronto's Matt Campagna slipped one passed Fotinos to lead the Lions 1-0 just four minutes before the end of the period.

A scramble in front of the net, led the Varsity Blues to score an early second period goal at 1:13 by Max Lindsay. The Lions got on the score sheet at 7:26 on a power play, as
Reid Jackman looked to pass to another teammate, but his pass took a deflection off a Toronto defenceman's stick and went in the net. The Varsity Blues responded within seconds following the Lions goal, scoring their third goal of game and leading the Lions 3-1 at the end of the second period.
Â
In the third period the Lions had another goal-scoring chance with
