The York University Lions women's volleyball team lost their final game before the holiday break to the University of Toronto Varsity Blues on Sunday, Nov. 25 at the Tait McKenzie Centre with a 3-0 win for the Blues.

The University of Toronto took the first set in a close 25-23 win. York was able to secure four points in a row following the Blues' first point of the game, which gave the Lions an early 4-1 lead.

The Lions kept increasing their lead, but Blues were able to catch up to the Lions who led 18-12. Toronto was able to secure four points in a row of their own and eventually they were able to pass the Lions and take the first set.

In the second set, the Blues led again and were nine points ahead of the visitors as they finished the set with a 25-16 win, and the Blues also won the third set with more than double York's points. The final set ended in a 25-12 win for the visiting Blues.

Aleksandra Steins led the Lions in points with 8.5 and U of T's Alina Dormann led the Blues in points with 15.5 points throughout the game. York's
Cadence Currie finished thegame with a team-high 12 digs, the second most between the two teams and behind U of T's Sophia Courrier who had 18 digs of her own.
