LIONS ENTER SECOND HALF OF 2018 REGULAR SEASON WITH UNDEFEATED RECORD

The York Lions will head into the second-half of the regular season hoping to keep their undefeated streak alive this weekend as the team hosts the McMaster Marauders and Brock Badgers at Alumni Field. The Friday night game against the Marauders doubles as York 9 FC Day and will feature contest promotions and giveaways at both the men's and women's games. The festivities on the night will also feature a pre-game ceremony honouring the ten year anniversary of the 2008 men's national championship team.

Last Meetings
The Lions haven't lost against the Marauders, one of their top OUA West division rivals, since the 2013 season and take an 11-game unbeaten streak against them into the game. Last season, the Lions scored victories 5-2 and 3-0 against McMaster. Included in the 11-game unbeaten streak is three victories in the playoffs, where they defeated the Marauders in the 2014 OUA and U SPORTS championship games as well as the 2015 OUA championship.
 
York also boasts an impressive unbeaten streak against Badgers, dating back to the 2009 season where they lost the season opener by a score of 1-0. The Lions won both matchups last season by identical scores of 3-0 and have a streak of three straight shutouts against the Badgers.

F Omar Marzouk – The Lions forward has been red-hot recently scoring five goals in his last four games. Marzouk leads the Lions in goals with seven on the season and is tied for third overall in the OUA.
 
M Emmanuel Zambazis – Zambazis has excelled in the midfield in five games so far with the Lions. He's scored a goal and added an assist and displayed elite ball control capabilities in every game he's played. 
 
McMaster
 
S Daniel Vicente – The Marauders rookie is tied for the team lead in goals with three in nine games this season. He also leads the team in shots (12) and shots on goal (7).
 
S Dusan Kovacevic – Tied with Vicente for the team lead in goals and was named an OUA West first-team all-star last season.
 
Brock
 
G Alexander May – Has led the Badgers to two of their three wins this season and has a .821 save percentage and has registered one shutout.
