The Rams have won five straight regular-season match-ups against the Lions dating back to the 2016-17 season, when the two teams split their season series. Last year the Rams won both meetings in five sets. Ryerson also defeated York 3-1 in a pre-season contest in late September.

The two teams will face each other one more time this season, on Saturday, Feb. 15 when the Lions head downtown to face the Rams at the Mattamy Athletic Centre.

- The Lions began their season with a massive 3-1 win over the defending OUA champion Queen's Gaels on Saturday afternoon. The win was a big one in the OUA East standings over a team they lost to twice last year.

- The Lions are looking to improve upon their fourth-place finish in the OUA East Division last year and eventual quarter-final finish.

- The Rams went 3-1 in the pre-season, defeating York, Guelph and Manitoba and falling to Waterloo.
- The Rams finished second in the OUA East last year but were upset in the quarter-finals by the Windsor Lancers.
- After facing the Lions, the Rams will head to North Bay, Ont., to take on the Nipissing Lakers on Saturday at 8pm.

OH Xander Ketrzynski – Started his career by earning OUA East and U SPORTS rookie of the year awards, the OUA East most valuable player award, and first-team OUA all-star and U SPORTS all-Canadian honours. He is the early OUA leader in scoring with 7.6 points per set after recording 28 kills in their opener last week.
