On Friday night, the York University Lions men's volleyball team suffered a loss to the No. 4 nationally ranked McMaster Marauders 3-0 at the Tait Mckenzie Centre.
In the first set the Marauders opened the scoring with a series of eight points and continued by matching the Lions point for point thereafter, taking the first set 25-12. The storyline was much of the same in the second and third set, as the Marauders clinched the game 25-13 in the second, and 25-17 in the third.

The Lions saw consistent scoring from plenty of options with
Andrew Tauhid,
Andriy Sozanskyy and
Aleksander Grzegorczyk accounting for five kills each, while
Grant Lynch tied for a game leading four blocks.

The Marauders recorded 29 kills, 9 aces and 9 blocks outperforming the Lions who had 23, four, and six, respectively.

With the loss the Lions fall to 2-2 and fifth in the OUA East division, while the Marauders are tied for first in the OUA West with a 5-1 record.

The Lions aim to get back into the win column when they play their next game away in Peterborough against the Trent Excalibur's at 7 pm.
