Shields made 22 saves, helping the Lions maintain their 2-1 lead on the Badgers.

Â
The Badgers earned an early power play in the first overtime, however after a big save by Shields, the Lions killed the rest of the power play to stay alive. With neither team scoring a goal, the game was extended to a second sudden death overtime period.
Â
Just 15 seconds into the second overtime period, the Lions were defeated on a shot by Justin Brack, that was deflected and went into the back on the net. With the goal the Badgers have taken the series 2-0 and will move on to the next round in the playoffs.
Â
The underdog Lions, who were the seventh seed in the OUA West, played well in their two games against the second-seeded Badgers, pushing the ninth-ranked team in the country to their limits and losing by just one goal in both playoff games. Â Â
