The York University Lions men's hockey team lost 3-1 against the Brock Badgers during a home game at Canlan Ice Sports on Sunday, Feb 3.

In the first period of the game, neither team was able to secure a goal, though York was able to produce 11 shots and the Badgers were able to fire ten shots on goal against the Lions.

The Badgers started off the second period of the game with an unassisted goal from Brody Silk at 17:16. With minutes to spare in the second period, the Lions responded with their only goal of the game at 18:46 with a goal from
Peter De Coppi, which was his second goal of the season. De Coppi's goal was assisted by
Justin Maiolino and
Nik Coric, their eighth and ninth assists respectively of the year.

In the third period of the game, though York surpassed the Badgers in shots-on-goal, with 14 for the Lions and ten for the Badgers, Brock was able to get another two goals past York goaltender
Mack Shields, which helped them secure their 3-1 win against the home team. At 13:07 Brock's Tyler Rollo and his teammates Brandon O'Quinn and Connor Walters produced the Badgers second goal of the game and just a minute later at 14:13, Justin Brack finished off the Badgers' trifecta of goals.

Shields was able to save 28 of the shots fired by the Badgers while Brock's Logan Thompson was able to save 33 of York's attempts.

The Lions will be facing the Badgers again next weekend on Saturday, February 9th in St. Catharines, Ont. for their second last game of the regular season.
