There's only one thing to be decided for the York University Lions men's soccer team: will they be the OUA's best?
The Lions, ranked No. 1 in the U SPORTS Top 10 for four consecutive weeks, locked up first place in the OUA West with a win over Laurier on Sunday. They are two points behind the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks for the OUA's No. 1 seed. Ont. Tech has only one game remaining, while the Lions have two games to go. If York wins both its remaining matches, it doesn't matter what the Ridgebacks do in their season finale – the Lions will pass them for top spot in the OUA table.
The country's top team, which remains undefeated on the season, begins the weekend with a matchup against the Brock Badgers. The Badgers are 5th in the OUA West with a 4-3-4 record. They find themselves in a tailspin entering play Friday, having gone winless in their last six games.
The Lions then return home to
ALUMNI FIELD for their season finale against the Western Mustangs in the annual Grad Game. Western finds itself in 3rd in the OUA West with a 6-2-3 record. They, too, enter play this weekend scuffling. The Mustangs have only been victorious once in their last five matches.
