Lexi Hannah's 27
th minute goal propelled the York University Lions field hockey team into their second straight OUA championship game, after they eliminated the No. 3 nationally ranked and No. 2-seeded Guelph Gryphons with a 1-0 win.
The Lions now await the winner of the Toronto-Western semifinal, scheduled for play this evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game began at a relatively slow pace, with only one shot registered in the entire first quarter.
- Things didn't stay that way in the second, however. Eight total shots included Hannah's go-ahead goal for York – all they needed to down Guelph and advance to the final.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Lions will either host Western or visit Toronto in the OUA field hockey championship, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 29.
