A hard-fought battle between the York University Lions Football team and the University of Windsor Lancers played out in the favour of the visitors in front of a large homecoming crowd on Friday night.
The Lions fell short by a score of 33-10 on a cold, windy night under the Friday Night Lights for the annual homecoming game at the York Lions Stadium. York had a lead at the half, but some costly penalties and ill-timed turnovers sunk them in the second half, something that has been a common theme throughout 2022.

- The Lions got off to a solid start, with Noah Craney pushing the Lions to the Lancers 12-yard mark. From there, Derek Giacobbi handled business with a clean kick between the posts to put the Lions up on the scoresheet first, leading 3-0.
- Not long after, the Lancers found themselves nearing the Lions endzone. However, they only managed to secure three points off a Brady Lidster 20-yard field goal, knotting the game at 3-3.
- After some tight back-and-forth action in the first quarter, Lidster wasted no time grabbing a 6-3 lead for Windsor with another 16-yard field goal late in the quarter.
