LIONS TAKE CONVINCING STRAIGHT SETS WIN OVER RMC

Box Score The York University Lions men's volleyball team started their season off on the right note, taking a straight sets win over the RMC Paladins at the Tait McKenzie Centre Friday night.

The Paladins never took more than a two-point lead for the duration of the game, with the Lions not providing a window for their opponents to build any momentum.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The first set ended 25-18 to York and was the most competitive one with the teams alternating points early on. However the second and third sets saw the Lions soar past their opponents with a 25-14 victory, with impressive outings from first team substitutes in the third set.
  • Luke de Greeff showed what he can do by scoring the most kill points (9) and producing several important dig saves.
  • His teammates Josh Fadare, Dennis Cota and Andrew Tauhid also had a night to remember with 8,8,5 points respectively. Tauhid and Fadare also produced extraordinary jump-serve performances throughout the game, with both players earning 5 and 3 ace points respectively.
