A U SPORTS first-team all-Canadian typically has some breakout moments to accompany their honour.
Alfred Olay did just that when he fielded a missed field goal in a September game against the Carleton Ravens.
After Carleton's Brandon Forcier directed a field goal attempt wide right of the uprights, Olay jetted the ball toward the Ravens' special teams unit, dodged four tackles on his way up the middle, and took the ball all the way to the opposite end zone. The 119-yard kick return gave them a 7-0 lead in the game – it was their first lead of the 2022 season.
Olay's run also made the U SPORTS history books. The 119-yard return tied for 20
th all time in kick returns, and was the second longest Lions kick return after Jason Marshall's 125-yard return on Sept. 7, 2009 vs. Windsor.
