Lizzie Gibson led the way for the Queen's Gaels with a hat trick of tries alongside 13 conversions for the nationally-ranked women's rugby squad as they defeated the York Lions 105-0. It was York's first regular season game on home turf Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Maggie Banks opened the scoring for the Gaels with a try in the first minute of the match, and from there the Gaels were not stopped, scoring nine tries in the first half, and taking a commanding 61-0 lead over the Lions at halftime.Â
- Second half mirrored the first as the Gaels continued their offensive surge, tallying eight tries, and ultimately winning their first game of the OUA season in a decisive manner.  Â

The Lions will stay at home for a contest against the Waterloo Warriors on Saturday, Sept. 10 at 1 pm at the Alumni Field.
