Kiara Leveridge had 28 points and the York University Lions, including 18 in the first half, and the York University Lions women's basketball team pulled away with a 78-54 win over the Lakehead Thunderwolves Saturday night at Tait McKenzie Centre.

Lauren Golding averaged a double double with 11 points and 16 rebounds to help her team seal the win against The Thunderwolves.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- York got off to a hot start thanks to the performance of Leveridge, and then in the second quarter they had the three-ball working. Avery Bathe-Minard got things started, and the Lions ended the first half with a commanding 45-19 lead.Â
- York continued their domination with Jada Codrington's third-quarter three pointer giving the Lions their largest lead of the game at 37 points. The quarter ended 62-29.
- The Thunderwolves went on a run to close the gap between both teams however Leveridge hit two consecutive threes to halt the comeback and see the game out for an Impressive Lions win 78-54.
