The York University football program is heading to Windsor on Saturday to wrap up their 2023 season against the Windsor Lancers. In a tough year that has gone against the Lions, having yet to muscle out their first win, holding a 0-7 record, York will finish their year on the road against a strong Lancers opponent.
On Oct. 6 the Lions faced off against the Toronto Varsity Blues at home in their annual Red & Blue Bowl game. The Lions defensive line looked strong throughout the first quarter, holding the Varsity Blues to a 10-0 lead, hoping for the York offense to create a spark coming out for the second quarter. Toronto came out stronger than they started, increasing their lead to 40-0 heading into half-time. The rest of the game played out in a similar manner, and the Varsity Blues won the 53rd annual Red & Blue bowl game 57-3.
