The York University Lions women's rugby team took the field on Saturday afternoon where they went head-to-head against the Brock Badgers. The contest played out as a challenging outing for the hosts, as they lost 98-6 at the Alumni Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- From the outset, it was evident that the Badgers were a force to be reckoned with. Their offensive plays and precision passing made it challenging for the Lions to contain their attack. The Badgers quickly secured nine tries in the first half.
- Despite the early setbacks, the Lions managed to register a penalty goal off the foot of Natashia Start to put York on the board 63-3 at halftime.
- However, the Badgers continued to maintain their stronghold into the second half, responding with another series of tries en route to a 98-6 victory.
LOOKING AHEAD:
Sitting at 0-3 for the season, the Lions will look to hit the road for their final away game of the season, as they embark on a road trip to Peterborough to encounter the Trent Excaliburs. Following that, they will return to their home turf for their final match of the season against the Guelph Gryphons. The first of these matchups is set for Friday, Sept. 29, with a 7:00 pm kick-off.
