The York University Lions football team has faced their fair share of hardship throughout the first-half of the season, the latest, the Guelph Gryphons shutting down any Lions offense to defeat York 88-7 on Saturday, Sept. 23 in Guelph. The Lions, still in search of their first win, will return to York Lions Stadium to play in front of their fans on Saturday, Sept. 30 against the Queen's Gaels.
The Lions are in their final stretch of the season with two remaining home games. An electric home atmosphere is just what the Lions need to charge over the Gael's, the team currently occupying the 7th seed in the OUA and the final playoff spot. A win over the Gael's would provide momentum to close out the Lions season, and shake up the bottom of the OUA standings.
