The score remained unchanged until late in the third quarter when Guelph evened the score courtesy of Stephanie Pomeroy. The goal came with just under five minutes left in the quarter, tying the game going to the fourth.Â
After a scoreless fourth, the match went into overtime. After that solved nothing, the game would be decided in a penalty shootout.Â
The Gryphons took a 2-0 lead in the shootout, before Kathryn Carlow got the Lions on the board. Carlow was the lone Lion to score, as Guelph took the shootout 3-1and advanced to the the OUA championship game Sunday afternoon.Â
