Riding high after a 2–0 win over the TMU Bold, the York University Lions women's hockey team hit the road on a cloudy Saturday night in St. Catharines to face the Brock Badgers. York entered the game sitting second in the OUA West with a 4–1 record, hoping to extend their momentum, while Brock, fourth in the conference, had a 3–2 record and were coming off a win in their previous game. Both teams aimed to string together wins as the OUA season continues to tighten.

The first period was scoreless, with both teams trading chances and testing the goaltenders early. York's Olivia Tran and Brock's Megan Thiessen both turned away several shots, keeping the game even through the opening 20 minutes.

The second period saw Moi Moi Luu open the scoring at 6:43 to put Brock up 1-1,with Rayna Franklin and Randyll Strongman drawing the assists. Brock added to their lead just 35 seconds later with a short-handed goal by Kylee Strano, assisted by Ava Fisher and Ellie French. York responded at 7:39 when Ginger Fast scored her fourth goal of the season, getting the Lions on the board and bringing them within one. Brock regained their two-goal lead before the period ended when Franklin scored another short-handed goal at 14:10, giving the Badgers a 3–1 lead heading into the third.

The Badgers added an insurance goal in the third period, with Kaedyn Gomes finding the back of the net at 17:03, with Strano earning the lone helper to make it 4-1. York pressured in the closing minutes, but Brock's defence and Thiessen's goaltending kept the score intact.

York now turns their attention to the Carleton Ravens. The matchup takes place on Friday, night in Ottawa, with puck drop scheduled for 7:00 pm.
