The York Lions women's volleyball team hit the road to face the Waterloo Warriors this evening. The Lions came into this game after losing two games last weekend to their local rivals the TMU Bold, and they were looking to bounce back.
After an early back and forth in the first few minutes of the opening set, York went on a 3-0 run and had a 7-4 lead, Waterloo went on a run of their own and tied the score at 8-8, from that point it was all Waterloo as they went on to take the first set 25-14. Victoria Herrington led the team in kills in the first set.
Waterloo dominated the second set, they led throughout the set and won 25-19. York made a late comeback effort into the third set as Alexis Miller and Kianna Drewniak generated an offensive push, going on an early 3-0 run and leading 8-6 at one point, that was the Lions' last lead of the game as the Warriors went on a run and won 25-21 taking all three sets.
