LIONS DEFEATED BY BADGERS IN MATINEE MATCH

This afternoon at the Tait McKenzie Centre, the York University's men's basketball team went head-to-head with the Brock Badgers, looking to secure their second home win of the season.

The Badgers struck first within the opening minute with a layup. Jordan Nelson quickly responded for York with a three-pointer, raising the energy in the gym. The Badgers gained momentum and controlled the pace for the remainder of the quarter. Brock closed the opening frame in front, 25–18.

The second quarter opened with tight defensive pressure from both sides, forcing each offense to work for their opportunities. York battled to close the gap, but the Badgers held on to their advantage and went into halftime leading 42–35.

Brock continued their push in the third quarter. Jeremiah Kwarteng answered for the Lions, sparking a rally that brought York within single digits. Kwarteng then capped the quarter with a layup at the buzzer, sending the Lions into the final frame trailing by five at 56–51.

York opened the fourth quarter determined to erase the five-point deficit. A three-pointer from Malakai Ayres-Olson pulled the Lions within four at 58–54. However, Brock intensified their defensive effort and prevented York from completing the comeback. The Badgers pulled away late and sealed the victory with a final score of 77–64.
