LIONS DEFEATED BY WARRIORS AFTER HEART FILLED GAME

This Saturday evening, York University's men's hockey team faced off against the Waterloo Warriors at Canlan Ice Sports York. This matchup presented an opportunity for the Lions to earn redemption after a narrow 4–3 loss to Waterloo earlier in the season.

The first period featured strong defensive play from both sides, with goaltenders making key saves and both teams generating steady shot pressure. Early in the period, Waterloo netted one, giving the Warriors an early edge. The period concluded with Waterloo leading 1–0.

The second period began with continued penalty-kill action. A rocket of a shot by the Warriors extended their lead to 2–0. As the period progressed, physicality and aggression increased between the two teams. Amid the chaos, Waterloo found the back of the net to make it 3–0.

In the third period, the competitiveness only intensified as both teams remained fully committed. Waterloo was able to extent the lead to 4–0. Despite York's continued effort, the Warriors maintained control of a majority of the play. Off a shot tipped in Waterloo scored one final time. The Warriors went on to shut out the Lions with a 5–0 final score.

LOOKING AHEAD:
The Lions will now shift their focus towards their next match as they face off against the Toronto Varsity Blues next Saturday on the road with puck drop scheduled for 7:00 pm.
