The York University Lions men's volleyball team played the second leg of their doubleheader against the Windsor Lancers on Saturday afternoon, looking to bounce back after falling to the Lancers 3-0.
The Lancers seized control early, jumping out to an 18-5 lead. They took the first set 25-11 and went up 1-0. The second set was pure entertainment, with both teams trading points throughout the set. However, despite staving off a pair of set points and cutting the Lancer lead, the Lions just could not get over the hump and lost the set 25-23 to take a 2-0 lead.
The Lions took a 3-1 lead to begin the third set but could not hold on to the early advantage. The Lancers then went on a 12-4 run to grab a 13-7 lead, one that eventually swelled to as high as eight. The Lancers ultimately took the set 25-17 and the match 3-0. Chris Hoffman led the Lions in kills with 14.
