This Saturday evening, the York University women's volleyball team faced the Trent Excalibur at the Tait McKenzie Centre. The match presented an opportunity for the Lions to secure back-to-back wins against Trent. 

The first set opened with the Lions getting on the scoreboard first following an attack error by Trent. York quickly built momentum and maintained a steady lead. Strong blocks and long rallies allowed the Lions to stay in control. The Excalibur were able to tie the score at 17–17, but York responded immediately. After a Trent error and a powerful kill by Victoria Herrington, the Lions pulled ahead. Consecutive kills by Herrington and additional Excalibur mistakes helped York close out the opening set 25–20. 

In the second set, Trent fought hard to gain momentum. An early error by the Lions put the Excalibur on the board first, allowing them to hold a small lead. Consecutive York errors widened the gap. However, a kill by Herrington brought the Lions back within reach at 10–12 and provided the spark they needed. The score remained close until a block by Julia Typa gave York the lead at 18–16. Building on this momentum, a block by Alexis Miller helped the Lions secure the set 25–23. 

York came out strong in the third set, capitalizing on early Trent errors to take a quick lead. Consecutive kills by Herrington and Typa extended York's advantage. Although Trent attempted to stay competitive, the Lions' blocking presence kept control firmly in York's hands. A final kill by Alexis Miller sealed the set at 25–17. 

The Lions defeated the Excalibur in straight sets, winning the match 3–0.

Next weekend the Lions will battle the Guelph Gryphons, as they host games on Saturday and Sunday at the Tait McKenzie Centre.
