The York Lions women's rugby team faced a difficult evening at York Alumni Field, dropping a 118–0 decision to a dominant Guelph Gryphons side. 

Guelph controlled the pace from the opening kickoff, establishing a 67–0 lead by halftime behind a relentless first-half attack and consistent territorial pressure. 

The Gryphons maintained their momentum through the second half, continuing to convert scoring opportunities as the match progressed. Despite the challenging score line, the Lions showed admirable grit and defensive commitment, working hard to contest the breakdown and battling through the full 80 minutes until the final whistle.
