PROMOTIONS / SPIRIT CREW

Primary responsibilities: Promote all Sport and Recreation programs on campus and at events.  Assist in the execution of all game-day/event promotions, including game/event set-up, all promotions (including announcements, half-time shows, special presentations etc.) and game/event tear-down.  Represent Sport and Recreation York at campus-wide events, and engage campus population during the week, by way of flyering and one-on-one engagement, as part of pre-game/event and recreation program promotions.
Qualifications: High energy, enthusiastic, outgoing individual, confident speaking on-on-one and in front of a large crowd, quick thinker and adaptable, ability to work independently and as a member of a team.  Events experience is an asset.
Requirements: Must be work/study eligible, have general knowledge of Sport and Recreation York, and be available to work most weekends and some hours during the week.
Time frame & hours per week: September-April, 10-15 hours/week.

MASCOT PERFORMER

Primary responsibilities: Promote all Sport and Recreation programs on campus and at events, assist in welcoming fans/attendees to each game/event, creating an exciting environment for everyone, participate in all promotions (including contests, halftime shows, special events, and cheerleading/dance squad routines etc).  Represent Sport and Recreation York at campus-wide events and engage campus population during the week by roaming the campus with the Promotions/Spirit Crew.
Qualifications: High energy, enthusiastic, outgoing individual, confident acting in front of large crowds, physically fit, quick thinker and adaptable, ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Events experience is an asset.
Requirements: Must be work/study eligible, have general knowledge of Sport and Recreation York, and be available to work most weekends and some hours during the week.

EVENT PHOTOGRAPHER

Primary responsibilities: Take action photos of varsity events and recreational classes, edit and sort photos within database.
Qualifications: Proven ability to produce high-quality action photos, strong knowledge of photo editing skills, avid sports enthusiast.
Requirements: Must be work/study eligible. Access to a professional camera an asset.
Time frame & hours per week: September-April, 8-15 hours/week, mostly evenings and weekends.

GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Primary responsibilities: Create all promotional materials for York Sport & Recreation.
Qualifications: Solid design software experience using Adobe Creative Suite, strong knowledge of design principles, extremely creative and resourceful with regards to images, fonts and design techniques.
Requirements: Must be work/study eligible. Must have knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
Time frame & hours per week: May - September, 8-10 hours/week.

SPORT WRITING ASSISTANT

Primary responsibilities: Create written website content for York's varsity sports teams for yorkulions.ca.
Qualifications: Excellent written communication skills with previous writing or journalism experience an asset, avid sports enthusiast with a strong knowledge of a variety of sports.
Requirements: Must be work/study eligible.
Time frame & hours per week: September-April, 8-15 hours/week, mostly evenings and weekends.

VIDEOGRAPHER

Primary responsibilities: Take video footage of varsity events and create highlight packages for use online.
Qualifications: Strong knowledge of editing software, experience with digital video equipment and technology, avid sports enthusiast.
Requirements: Must be work/study eligible. Must have knowledge of Final Cut Pro.
Time frame & hours per week: September-April, 8-15 hours/week, mostly evenings and weekends.
