Convenor
Convenors are York students work with the Coordinator, IMS and Manager IMS, and play a key role in the hands-on administration of the IMS program with a group of sports during specific times. They are responsible for the scheduling of specific sport(s) leagues and/or officials within and administrative follow up. Strong administrative skills, attention to detail, time management, and good interpersonal skills are required.

Minimum qualifications:
  • Standard First Aid with CPR-C from LSS, Red Cross, ST. John or Ski Patrol. 
  • Rec York Sport experience
  • Experience or certification as an official is helpful but not required.

Referee
Referees are an integral part of the IMS team at each game within the leagues, tournaments, and/or events and may officiate in any number of sports.  Training and mentorship is available to expand skills/sports and support in-game work.

Minimum qualifications:
  • Standard First Aid with CPR-C from LSS, Red Cross, ST. John or Ski Patrol. 
  • Sport certification or experience preferred.

Intramural Assistants
As a member of the IMS Team, these York undergraduate student leadership positions work closely with the Coordinator, Intramural Sports and the Manager, Intramural Sports, playing a key role in the promotion, administration, and/or development of the IMS program. 


Minimum qualifications:
  • Emergency First Aid with CPR/C or higher
  • Strong administrative skills, attention to detail, time management, and good interpersonal skills are required. 
  • Experience within the Rec York IMS program is preferrable.
  • IM Assistant – EngagementThink you have fantastic social media skills and enjoy getting other excited about rec?  Under the direction of the Coordinator, IMS and Manager, IMS, this position collaborates on the utilization of social media to promote IMS and recreational activities for greater student engagement and particpation, and supports virtual activities.
  • IM Assistant – AdministrationAre you passionate about rec sports and a great organizer? Under the direction of the Coordinator, IMS and Manager, IMS, this position supports the administration of the IMS program including league and results administration, incident follow up administration, and scheduling.
  • IM Assistant – OutreachLove special events and working with other students and student groups? Under the direction of the Coordinator, IMS and Manager, IMS, this position collaborates with student organizations and campus programs to provide unique recreational activities and events, increasing the awareness of and engagement with Rec York. This position works on the development and execution of the Rec York Accessible Sports program.
  • IM Assistant – LeadershipAre you passionate about officials development? Are you a people-person and good with administration? Under the direction of the Coordinator, IMS and Manager, IMS, this position supports the IMS Officials Leadership Program implementation, working on the development and mentoring of current and future officials. This position works with the Coordinator, IMS on the initial and ongoing training of officials, and follow up on officials' activity and performance.

PROGRAM LEAD – INTRAMURALS  

As a member of the Intramural Sports Team, this leadership position works closely with the Manager, Intramural Sports, playing a key role in the promotion and administration of the IMS programs.

General hours: 24 hours/week; evenings and weekends 

Minimum qualifications:  
  • Standard First Aid with CPR/C or higher from LSS, Red Cross or St. John Ambulance? 
  • Strong administrative skills, attention to detail, time management, and good interpersonal skills are required
  • Experience and/or familiarity with the RecYork IMS program is an asset
