A message from the Equestrian Club:

The York University Equestrian Team proudly competes in the Ontario Collegiate Equestrian Association (OCEA) — a league that promotes competitive riding for university and college students across Ontario. Whether you're an experienced rider or simply passionate about horses, our team offers a supportive environment to pursue your equestrian goals.

We offer two streams:

• Competitive Team – Riders of all levels are welcome to try out! Our team competes in hunter equitation-style shows at both the regional and provincial levels. All horses are provided by host barns, making it accessible for riders without their own mounts. *Minimum 1 year experience as per OCEA guidelines.

 • Recreational Program – For students who want to keep riding without the pressure of competition, or for students interested in learning to ride, our rec team offers regular lessons and barn involvement in a relaxed and social setting.

No horse? No problem. All shows and practices are on school horses provided by our partner facilities.
No previous show experience? We value potential, coachability, and passion.

We also welcome students and faculty to come support our riders at local shows throughout the season — your cheers make a difference!

Join us to ride, compete, learn, and be part of a dedicated equestrian community on campus.
